When my dad told me he’d written a children’s book, I was impressed! When he asked me to type it out for him, I was less impressed. His handwriting was ambiguous, his decision to write it on notebook scraps was baffling, and there was some confusion over the spelling of “Grumblewurzle”, which is a completely made up word that can be spelled however you’d like. Despite all of this, one thing was immediately clear to me – I love this book!
The messages are perfect for young minds, the illustrations are
charming and captivating, and it has been incredible to see a story
that was originally written for the authors grandchildren
(my niece and nephews) come to life in book form.
I hope everyone enjoys the story of The Grumblewurzle as much as I do.
Grumble grumble.
